Practice Director and Trainer—Business Analysis

Barbara A. Carkenord has over 25 years of experience in business analysis, and is one of the original founders of the Business Analysis training industry. Barbara has an MBA from University of Michigan, is a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®). She is also the author of the worldwide best-seller Seven Steps to Mastering Business Analysis, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and chapter events. Actively involved in the IIBA, she was a core team member of the IIBA BABOK® creation committee and contributed to its book, Managing Business Analysis. In 2010, Barbara was named Small Business Woman of the Year by the Georgia Women in Technology Association.

Barbara possesses detailed knowledge and experience in many analysis tools and techniques. She develops and delivers business analysis training using proven techniques and real-world experience. Barbara's areas of expertise include business analysis, software design, quality assurance, and project management. Her experience covers many industries including insurance, banking, and manufacturing. Her newest book, CBAP® Exam Prep, is scheduled for release in mid-2012.


Mike Griffiths
Mike Griffiths

Mike Griffiths is a world-renowned project manager, trainer, consultant and writer, holding multiple project management and Agile-related certifications, including the new PMI-ACPsm designation. He is also a regular columnist and Agile contributor at Gantthead.com, the world's leading online community for IT project managers. Mike was on the original PMI-ACPsm Steering Committee, which defined the agile-related knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to be tested by the PMI-ACPsm exam. He is also currently helping to create the new Version 5 PMBOK Guide, as well as the Software Extension to the PMBOK Guide.

Back in 1994, Mike helped create the agile method DSDM (Dynamic Systems Development Method) and has been using agile methods including FDD, Scrum and XP for the last 17 years. Mike served on the Board of Directors for the Agile Alliance and the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN), and also founded the Calgary Chapter of APLN in 2006. Mike is also very active in traditional project management, holding both the PMP and PRINCE2 certifications. Mike frequently presents at PMI Global Congress conferences, and teaches a 2-day Agile Project Management course for the Project Management Institute (PMI) as part of their traveling Seminars World program. He also helped start the PMI Agile Community of Practice, which is now the largest PMI community. His newest book, PMI-ACPsm Exam Prep, is scheduled for release in Q1 of 2012.

Rick A. Morris, PMP, is an ITIL Practitioner, consultant, author, mentor, and creator of a non-profit foundation to promote Project Management in charities and other non-profits. Rick is an accomplished project manager and public speaker. His appetite for knowledge and passion for the profession makes him a sought after speaker at PMI chapters, various civic organizations, and a frequent guest lecturer at local universities.

Peter is a dynamic and commercially astute professional who has achieved notable success in Project Management. His background is in project management across three major business areas over the last 26 years, MRP/ERP systems with various software houses and culminating in his current role with Infor, Business Intelligence (BI) with Cognos, and product lifecycle management (PLM) with Siemens. He has spent the last 7 years leading PMOs and developing project managers and is now focusing on project based services development with Infor.

Peter is also an accomplished communicator, leader, and professional speaker. He is the author of the worldwide best-selling books The Lazy Project Manager (Infinite Ideas) and Leading Successful PMOs (Gower). Peter is working with RMC to convert The Lazy Project Manager into a full-featured, 14 PDU e-Learning course, scheduled to be released in Q2 of 2012.
