Attempt to Force a Manual Software Registration
Software Activation/Registration Fails AFTER Submitting User Information During a Screen that says "Contacting RMC Project Management Server to process registration. Please Wait."
Sometimes software Activation/Registration fails when it attempts to access the RMC registration server on the Internet. This can be caused by many environmental variables. To work around this issue, try to force the software to register offline. This process involves a few steps.
First, be sure that the software works correctly in Demo Mode. If the Demo Mode seems to be working correctly, and the problem only appears when Activating/Registering the software, then continue.
Second, if you are receiving an Invalid Serial Number error, be sure that you are not making a common typographical error. See this page for more information. If you are certain you are entering the correct serial number, then continue:
- Make sure to remove the PM FASTrack CD from your CD ROM drive.
- Login to your computer using the account you will normally use to access the software.
- If you are not currently using the latest FASTrack version 5.2.1, update now.
- If you have not tried to register using version 5.2.1 yet, try to register the software normally. Your problem will most likely be solved with version 5.2.1.
- If you are still having problems connecting to the server AND you are using version 5.2.1, we will force a Manual Registration by following the steps below.
- Run the PM FASTrack software by double clicking the desktop icon.
- When you are presented with the options: "Demo", Activate", or "Buy", choose "Activate".
- When prompted to enter the license serial number, enter "MANUAL" (all caps, no quotes) and click next.
- You will reach a screen that prompts you for a Site Key. RMC will need to generate a Site Key. Fill out and submit a Site Key Request Form. RMC will contact you with a Site Key.
- DO NOT uninstall or reinstall the software at this point. Doing so will make your Site Code (and therefore your Site Key) invalid.
- If you need to close the application before you receive the Site Key, you will need to type "MANUAL" in the license serial number field again to get back to the Site Key entry screen when you are ready to enter the Site Key.
- Once you have a Site Key from RMC and you are back to the Site Key entry screen, enter your 18 digit license serial number and your Site Key and click next.
