About The CCBA® Examination
Exam Details
The International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) administers a professional certification to practitioners of business analysis who wish to demonstrate their skills and receive formal recognition of their expertise. This designation is called the Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBA®). Candidates for the CCBA® certification are recognized for the professional investment they have made in their business analysis career and desire to advance in the field.
The CCBA® certification is also ideal for professionals working in hybrid business analyst roles, who wish to demonstrate and receive formal recognition of their skills. For example, those performing business analysis in conjunction with an additional professional role as a project manager, system analyst, quality assurance tester, management and many other BA hybrid roles.
The CCBA® is similar to the CBAP® designation, however it requires less BA work experience for application and the exam is comprised of mostly knowledge and fact-oriented questions while the CBAP® is comprised of situation-based questions, both derived from the BABOK® Guide. The qualifications, as designated by the IIBA® for the CCBA® exam are as follows:
